Is is possible to program a used (non virgin) transponder to any EWS module?

Say if I wanted to move key 5 to position 1 for instance, to tidy things up?

Also, a little of topic…. Is it possible to replace the EWS module with a used one from another car?
I fancy having playing with a scrappy EWS module first (E46), but don’t want to wreck my one and only working key from my actual car, and also don’t want to wreck new virgin keys by programming them with my scappy EWS module.
Can you re-program them to other positions/ EWS modules again and again, or are they one shot only?

I see that you can code/ re-code the EWS module using NCS-Expert, but I thought that *some modules such as EWS/GM5 were VIN locked somehow to the car?
Seems that coding is just about settings ONLY.
Wanted to confirm if this is the case, or not.
I am hoping that when I am happy with my scrappy EWS module, that I can just fit that into the car instead.
Will this work, or can i only use the EWS module that came with my car?

I have DIS v57, SSS and NCS-Expert.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

It can only write new blank car key.
